Msgr. Charles M. Murphy was former rector of the North American College, the seminary for Americans in Rome. He also served as adjunct professor at St. John’s Archdiocese Seminary in Boston. He holds a doctorate in theology from the Gregorian University in Rome, for which he conducted propaedeutic seminars. In the diocese of Portland, Maine, he held various positions including director of seminarians, director of the permanent diaconate, pastor and theological advisor to the bishop. He is the author of three previous books.
