Armando Rojas Guardia (Author)
Armando Rojas Guardia, born in Caracas in 1949, is one of the seminal voices of contemporary poetry in Latin America. A poet and essayist, he is author of such well-known Spanish literary works as “Del mismo amor ardiendo” (“From the Same Love Burning,” 1979); “Yo supe de la vieja herida” (”I Knew About the Old Wound,” 1985); “Poemas de Quebrada de la Virgen” (“Poems from the Virgin´s Creek,” 1985); “Hacia la noche viva” (“Towards the Living Night,” 1989); “Antología poética” (“Poetic Anthology,” 1993); y “La nada vigilante” (“The Vigilant Nothingness,” 1994). In 1981 he founded the Tráfico Group. Of his work it has been said that “…it is about a chant that celebrates the intimate nuptials between the street and God, between the world’s noise and mystical silence…”
