Geralyn Wolf is the bishop of the Dioces of Rhode Island. She is one of fourteen women bishops in the worldwide Anglican Communion. Prior to her election as bishop in 1995, she served in both mainline and urban churches in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and was Dean of Christ church Cathedral in Louisville, Kentucky. Bishop Wolf has had many and varied experiences in the church, and has a special devotion to the religious life as expressed through the monastic tradition. Prior to attending seminary she was a high school teacher and coach. For diversion, she makes whimsical wood constructions from found objects. In her artist’s statement, she says, “Other people’s trash becomes the raw material from which I make my figures. Most people want to throw away the painful memories of life. I believe God uses those memories as raw materials to reshape our lives.”
