Aneela Khalid Arshed came to the United States from Pakistan in 1979. A personal experience inspired her to undertake an intensive study of Islam and its traditions. She now works on local committees aimed at strengthening Pakistani-Americans’ cultural awareness and celebrating and understanding Pakistani heritage. Arshed lives in Long Island.
