She has worked in the area of spirituality as a retreat leader, lecturer, and writer—in the United States, Europe, and Australia—for more than a quarter of a century. For twenty of those years she held the highest profile position a woman ever held with the National Conference of Catholic Bishops: executive director of the Secretariat for Family, Laity, Women and Youth.

Dominic F. Doyle is an associate professor of theology at Boston College's School of Theology and Ministry. He holds degrees from Cambridge University, Harvard Divinity School, and Boston College and has received the Catherine LaCugna Award to New Scholars (CTSA) and the John Templeton Award for Theological Promise.

Donald Dietrich, professor of theology at Boston College, has focused his research and publications on German Catholic experiences, ranging from the Tubingen School of Theology to the Third Reich. Most recently, he has edited Christian Responses to the Holocaust: Moral and Ethical Issues and has completed a book manuscript, The German Catholic Experience with Human Rights. He is a member of the Church Relations Committee at the United States Holocaust National Museum.
