In God-Talk in America (Crossroad, 1997, hardcover), Phyllis A. Tickle writes of the democratization of theological discussion through computers and cyber-space-a revolution in communication that has enabled universal access to theological discussion. The result, she says, is “the greater realization of the Reformation’s intention toward the priesthood of all believers and the creation of a constituency of the equally informed, at least among those who wish so to be.” One intriguing aspect of this spread of God-talk is that it has brought a younger, more computer-literate generation into the conversation.
